LV3 is on the Liver Meridian; its Chinese name is Tai Chong and in translation means Great Surge. Tonify Liver Yin, tonify Liver Qi.
It is located on the top of the foot between your big toe and second one, the soft area between the bones, where they form “V”.
Indications: abreast of using it to lower your blood pressure, in other combinations it balance the emotional energy, regulate menstruation, reduce tension and pain in the chest.
One of the life saving points in acupuncture is Du 26 (Chinese name: Shui gou or translated in English Middle of Person/ Water Trough). It is also called Ren Zhong – Human Center. This point is situated on the du meridian – one of the main 14 qi highway.
It is located in the midline between the nose and the upper lip. According the Chinese medicine the universe has three parts: Heaven, Humanity and Earth. The nose receives the 5 Qi* from Heaven, the mouth receives the 5 tastes from Earth**. Located between them the Du 26 turns to be the center of the person, between the heaven and the earth. The Du channel supervises all the Yang channels of the body, just like the heaven supervises the Yang of the universe. The Ren channel look after the Yin channels of the body. Du 26 regulated either the Yin so is the Yang.
When to use it: heatstroke, coma, mental disorders, trismus, manic psychosis, epilepsy, syncope, acute lumber pain, wry mouth, swelling face, gastric pain.
The thing that made me want to learn about this point is that this is one of the lives saving point. In case of emergency (severe bleeding, fainting, etc.) you can press the Du 26.
